ECI Tamil Nadu Election Results 2026, TN Assembly Election Result 2026 LIVE Updates: After TVK chief Vijay requested the Congress winners’ support to form the government in Tamil Nadu, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal said the party leadership has directed the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee to take a final decision on Vijay’s request, keeping in view the sentiments of the state reflected in the electoral verdict. Breaking the DMK-AIADMK binary in Tamil Nadu, superstar Vijay’s TVK Monday emerged as the single largest party — a rare performance by a party in its debut election. Just 11 seats short of the majority mark, Vijay is now on the lookout for coalition partners to install the first non-Dravidian government in the southern state in over 50 years.

In a historic win and riding Tamil Nadu out of the two-party system, TVK clinched 108 seats, leaving the ruling DMK far behind with just 59 seats. AIADMK too put up a dismal show, winning in just 47 constituencies. Chief Minister Stalin, who lost his Kolathur turf, said the party will be an exemplary opposition.

The Assembly Elections 2026 witnessed a dramatic range of political mandates, with victory margins swinging from massive landslides to hair-breadth escapes across the state. Leading the tally for the highest margin recorded so far, AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami secured a dominant victory in his home turf of Edappadi, winning by a staggering 98,110 votes.

Close on his heels, the newly formed Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) demonstrated significant urban strength as ECR P Saravanan clinched the Shozhinganallur seat with a massive lead of 96,370 votes, followed by M L Vijayprabhu who took the Madhavaram constituency by a margin of 94,985 votes.
