Elderly woman injured after minor 2-wheeler rider knocks her down

An elderly woman pedestrian was grievously injured after two minors riding a scooter rammed into her in Nandini Layout on Monday afternoon. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

The accident occurred around 11.54 a.m. when the elderly woman was walking along the roadside. The scooter suddenly rammed into her, causing her to fall and suffer severe head injuries.

Passers-by rushed to her help and immediately shifted her to a nearby private hospital. The two minor riders attempted to flee from the spot, but were caught by locals and handed over to the Nandini Layout police.

As the place of the accident falls under the jurisdiction of Rajajinagar Traffic Police Station, they registered a case. The police are considering registering an FIR against the parents for allowing the minors to ride the scooter.

The police are awaiting recovery of the victim to record her statement for further investigation.
