Assembly Elections 2026 Live Updates: Public campaigning for assembly elections in Kerala, Puducherry and Assam concluded on April 7. In West Bengal, over 91 lakh names have been deleted from the state’s voter rolls since the Special Intensive Revision began, shrinking the electorate nearly 12%- from 7.66 crore in October 2025 to 6.75 crore now. Over 27 lakh of those deletions involved voters placed under adjudication, with more than a quarter of such cuts concentrated in two Muslim-majority districts. In the 2021 Assembly election, 7.34 crore voters were eligible to cast ballots.
