James, who has been with WWE since the year 2014, has worked in a variety of roles before landing his biggest gig as the show's co-lead writer last year.

Brian James aka Road Dogg, WWE Smackdown’s co-lead writer stepped down from his role at the Stamford-based company on Thursday as the wrestling-entertainment behemoth goes through a phase of writing transition.

James, who has been with WWE since the year 2014, has worked in a variety of roles before landing his biggest gig as the show’s co-lead writer last year.

The move comes around the same time as Alexandra Williams’ promotion as the Vice President and lead writer for WWE Raw in a massive creative shake-up. Williams’ push up the ladder promises to being a revolution to the sport with a record number of women’s bout supposedly lined up for Wrestlemania.

Road To Wrestlemaia!

CM Punk and AJ Lee emerged victorious at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago, Illinois. The event also saw Rhea Ripley and Randy Orton secure their spots at WrestleMania with wins in the main events for the men’s and women’s categories.

Punk retained his World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Finn Balor in a match that earned him Balor’s respect, who praised Punk for his well-deserved victory after an excellent display of professional wrestling.

Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, claimed the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, making Becky Lynch submit with her Black Widow move in a thrilling match that saw some involvement from the officials.

Rhea Ripley outperformed Tiffany Stratton, Kiana James, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez to win the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, securing her spot at WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Randy Orton triumphed over Cody Rhodes, Trick Williams, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Je’Von Evans in the Men’s Elimination Chamber headline event, earning his place at the grand stage.

The Elimination Chamber was the final major event before WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, where some of the company’s biggest stars competed for a chance to participate in the main event of WWE’s premier spectacle.
