Heavy rain lashed parts of Hyderabad in the evening on Friday, including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tank Bund, Himayat Nagar, Narayanguda, Musheerabad, RTC Crossroad, Kachiguda, Balapur, Vidyanagar, Panjagutta and Khairatabad areas. Due to heavy rain, traffic flow was affected in low-lying areas that were inundated. Traffic police had to resort to pumping out water near Mettuguda cemetery, as the road got flooded due to sewage pipeline issue and rainfall in the surrounding areas.
Even at 7 p.m., heavy flow of traffic slowed down movement of vehicles from Ayodhya Junction, Nirankari Bhavan, Shadan college, Khairatabad towards VV Statue. The Hyderabad Traffic Police issued an advisory asking commuters to take alternate routes for hassle free movement.

Shaikpet recorded 2.2 cm of rainfall while Malkagjiri logged 1.6 cm of rain according to the data hosted by the Telangana Development Planning Society on Friday at 8 p.m.
The rainfall eased in other parts of the State with a few mandals in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Adilabad and Rangareddy recording between 3 cm and 2 cm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert forecasting heavy rainfall at isolated places in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, and Nirmal districts of Telangana for Saturday. “Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana,” said the warning valid till Saturday morning.

For Saturday, the IMD put out a yellow alert for Adilabad. Bhadradri Kothagudem, Hanamkonda, Jagtiyal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Mancherial, Medak, Mulugu, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla and Warangal districts.
