The Telangana Excise Department arrested three people and seized more than 15 kg of ganja worth over ₹10 lakh in two separate operations carried out in Hayathnagar and Quthbullapur, officials said on Saturday.

In the larger seizure, the LB Nagar Excise District Task Force (DTF) arrested Bajrang Renuka Bai and seized 14.135 kg of ganja from her residence in Jakkadi Colony, Saheb Nagar, Hayathnagar. The contraband, valued at over ₹10 lakh, was sourced from Odisha and supplied to customers in Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram and surrounding areas.

The accused and the seized contraband were later handed over to the Hayathnagar Excise Station for further investigation.

In another operation, DTF personnel in Quthbullapur arrested two men from Bihar and seized 1.052 kg of ganja from their possession.

The accused were identified as Raj Kumar (20) and Vijay Kumar (23). Both were handed over to the Quthbullapur Excise Station along with the seized contraband for further legal action.

The Excise Department said investigations are underway in both cases to trace the source of the narcotics and identify others involved in the supply network.
