Vadodara: Art lovers in Vadodara city will once again immerse themselves in the grandeur of artistic creation. The Torrent Group-supported UNM Foundation will present Expression – The City Arts Project in Vadodara for the fourth consecutive year.
This year’s edition of Expression in Vadodara city will showcase some of the most acclaimed creations in theatre, dance and music by artists from Ahmedabad and Vadodara. For the first time in Vadodara, art lovers will get the opportunity to witness interactive and multimedia artworks in the visual arts exhibition.
Held at Alembic Art District, Vadodara
The presentations will be held on 31st January and 1st February 2026 at Alembic Art District, Vadodara. The visual arts exhibition will start at 6:00 PM, followed by two presentations at 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
On the first day, i.e. 31st January, two performances will be held in which a musical performance titled “Fakirnama: Tales of a Modern Fakir” will be presented by Shirazedin Ghiya Collective from Vadodara, followed by a dance performance titled “The Blue Hour” by Shrut Changawwala from Ahmedabad.
On the second day, i.e. 1st February, a theatrical performance titled “A.K.” will be presented by Gaurang Rawal from Ahmedabad, followed by a musical performance titled “Ek Khwab Si” by Sameer Khan’s Collective from Vadodara.
All these performances have been selected from the performances presented under the theme “Stories Waiting to Be Told” in the seventh edition of “Abhivyakti – The City Arts Project” held in Ahmedabad in November-2025. All these performances have been curated by renowned curators, including Gopal Agarwal (Dance), Tapas Railiya (Music), Gurleen Baj (Drama) and Jayu Thakkar (Visual Arts). In addition, experienced mentors who provide invaluable guidance to the artists include Kriti Mahesh (Dance), Rajat Dholakia (Music), Saumya Joshi (Drama) and Anjan Dalal (Visual Arts).
Since its inception in 2018, over 550 performances by over 2,500 artists have been presented under the Expression – The City Arts Project, which has been enjoyed by over 1 million art lovers. This unique art festival has expanded beyond Ahmedabad to other cities in Gujarat such as Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and Bhuj.
