The EFI, which landed in hot water over the appointment of rape-accused Tarsem Singh Warraich as coach-cum-manager for the event in Jordan, defended their selection of the head coach on Tuesday.

The EFI in its reply to the Sports ministry on behalf of the show-cause notice, said that as per Singh, a false case was registered against him at Sonipat in Feb 2023, and the case is sub-judice.

The letter added that he also furnished a certificate from his lawyers to substantiate his position further. It was only
