PM Modi said movement of ships through Hormuz has become difficult, with attacks on commercial vessels. He condemned it calling it “unacceptable”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the situation in West Asia is “worrisome" and warned that India must be prepared for long-term consequences of the ongoing conflict.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he said he had come to present the situation in West Asia and the challenges being faced by India, adding that the war is having an adverse effect on people’s lives.
PM Modi said the region where the war is taking place is a key route for India’s connectivity with the world and fulfills a significant share of global crude oil and gas requirements.
PM Modi said movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz has become difficult, with attacks on commercial vessels and disruptions in international waterways. He condemned it calling it “unacceptable".
He said India is working through diplomacy to ensure safe passage of Indian ships even in the current war-like situation.
