Farmers often build small homes amid their fields — but this one in UP looks like a palace. Nine years, 13,000 sq yards, a 4-bigha park. Here's the district and cost.

In Salahpur village of Meerut's Rohta police station area, this palace-like house draws visitors from far and wide — its sprawling white facade has earned it the local nickname "White House."

Spread across nearly 2.5 acres, the mansion took almost 9 years to build, with construction beginning on February 1, 2009.

The house is popularly known as the residence of Mukarram Ali, alias Nanhe Pradhan, who built it as a shared home for his entire joint family.

Nanhe Pradhan is one of five brothers whose families — together numbering 21 children, 16 sons and 5 daughters — live under one roof within a single boundary wall.

All 16 rooms in the house are air-conditioned, and the property has 106 windows and doors in all, with two separate entrance gates weighing 17 quintals each.

The family has planted litchi, mango and pine trees near the entrance, installed solar panels on the roof, and even left a strip of open land around the house in case the road outside is widened in future.

The sprawling property also has a park spread over four bigha, an orchard, a tennis court and a cricket ground, alongside a personal generator, a 15 kW inverter and a 10 kW solar power setup.

A tricolour flag flies atop the house's uppermost terrace — the family, known for its philanthropy, regularly distributes flowers and produce from its garden to local schools on occasions like Independence Day and Republic Day.
