Farmers protest against acquisition of agri research centre land for industrial park

Members of Coordination Committee of All Farmers’ Associations of Tamil Nadu staged a demonstration in front of Virudhunagar Collectorate protesting against the attempt to acquire 129 acres of land of Regional Agricultural Research Centre at Kovilankulam.

The protest was led by its State president P.R. Pandian.

The DMK Government should immediately give up its plan of acquiring the land of research centre for setting up industrial estate. Besides, it should fulfill its promise of establishing an agricultural university in Madurai as per its Assembly election promise.
