Father of five elopes with mother of 3 in Dumka, man held

Dumka: A father of five children allegedly eloped with a mother of three in the Shikaripara police station area of Dumka district, police said on Monday.The man, identified as Manar Ansari, 38, has been arrested.The alleged incident took place on March 30. The woman's father lodged a complaint with the police on April 4 after he came to know about the elopement.In the complaint, the father stated that his son-in-law works in another state, and his daughter and their three children live in Dumka. He alleged that Ansari lured her away.Acting on the complaint, police launched a search operation. Meanwhile, the Ansari’s wife informed the police about him after her husband reached their house in Sonadhap village along with the other woman.

The police then arrested him."The accused was produced before the court on Monday and remanded to judicial custody. The woman will be presented before court on Tuesday for her statement, after which further action will be taken," the officer-in-charge of Shikaripara police station, Amit Lakra, said.
