Vadodara: Police have cracked the murder case of a woman whose decomposed body was found in a field in Savli taluka last month, arresting a 30-year-old man from Sabarkantha on Thursday. The accused, Sagarsinh Makwana, was arrested after investigators traced crucial leads linking him to the murder of 45-year-old Bhavna Parmar, a widow from Talod taluka in Sabarkantha district.According to police, Parmar’s unidentified body was discovered in a field in Muval village on April 11 by passers-by, who alerted the authorities. Investigators initially struggled to determine the cause of death as the body had begun decomposing.“Our team started scanning CCTV footage from a temple in Savli during the investigation,” Vadodara rural SP Sushil Agrawal said.Police found that Parmar had visited the Bhammarghoda Mataji temple on March 31. Her photograph was later circulated across the state through social media, eventually reaching her family members, who identified her.During the probe, police learnt that Parmar was in a relationship with Makwana, a married man employed at a company in Manjusar GIDC.
According to police, Makwana told investigators that Parmar frequently pressured him to meet her and allegedly threatened to reveal their affair to his wife. He claimed he was frustrated by their repeated arguments.Makwana allegedly called Parmar to Vadodara in March on the pretext of visiting the temple. During the visit, the two had another argument, following which he allegedly strangled her to death in a fit of rage and dumped her body in a field before fleeing the spot.
