Roger Federer’s next standing ovation has a date — and an unparalleled level of anticipation.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, has confirmed that the 20-time Grand Slam champion will be inducted on Friday, August 28 (Aug. 29 ceremony date per Hall announcement).

Tickets went on sale this week, starting at $90.

They didn’t last long.

In fact, they vanished in just two minutes.

“Unprecedented Demand"

“The Hall of Fame experienced an unprecedented demand for the 2026 induction ceremony, and the tickets were sold in only two minutes," the organization posted on social media.

Even after planning for the frenzy, it wasn’t enough.

Originally, around 900 tickets were available for the ceremony inside the historic Newport Casino — the 19th-century landmark that houses the Hall.

Anticipating massive interest in the first man to win 20 Grand Slam singles titles, organizers opened the adjacent 3,600-seat stadium for an outdoor watch party.

That meant roughly 4,500 total tickets — still gone in two minutes.

“As a small but historic venue, our capacity is limited," the Hall said, encouraging fans to join waitlists and subscribe for updates.

A Three-Day Celebration

Federer will be inducted alongside renowned broadcaster Mary Carillo, with festivities stretching across three days in Newport.

The revamped induction celebration, introduced in 2025, returns with expanded programming.

Highlights include:

  • The Hall of Fame Celebrity Pro Classic, featuring Federer in a doubles appearance alongside fellow tennis legends.
  • A brand-new Red Carpet Pre-Show and Watch Party ahead of the induction ceremony.

The Hall recently completed a $3 million renovation in preparation for major upcoming inductions — including Federer this year and potentially Serena Williams next year, should she remain retired.
