It’s finally official: Charles Leclerc will remain at Scuderia Ferrari for the foreseeable future after signing a new multi-year contract extension with the Italian giants.
Ferrari confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, ensuring that Leclerc will continue to race in Formula 1’s iconic red colours beyond the current season.
“Ferrari N.V. announces the multi-year renewal of the agreement between Scuderia Ferrari HP and Charles Leclerc," the team said in an official statement.
The announcement comes just days before Leclerc’s home race at the Monaco Grand Prix and represents another milestone in a relationship that stretches back nearly a decade.
Leclerc first joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2016 and quickly emerged as one of the most highly rated young talents in motorsport. After winning the Formula 2 championship in 2017 and making his Formula 1 debut the following year, he earned a promotion to Ferrari in 2019.
Since then, the 28-year-old has become one of the defining figures of Ferrari’s modern era.
Despite the team’s ongoing wait for a drivers’ championship, Ferrari has consistently placed its trust in Leclerc, who has repaid that faith with race victories, pole positions and numerous podium finishes. Widely regarded as one of the fastest drivers over a single lap, he has established himself as one of Formula 1’s elite competitors.
The new agreement reinforces Ferrari’s belief that Leclerc remains central to its long-term ambitions.
His connection to the Scuderia now extends well beyond his time as a Formula 1 driver. Having progressed through Ferrari’s academy system before becoming a race winner and team leader, Leclerc represents one of the most successful products of the Maranello development programme.
Leclerc already ranks among Ferrari’s most experienced Formula 1 drivers and sits second on the team’s all-time list for pole positions, trailing only seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
