Uruguay played out an entertaining stalemate against Cabo Verde at the Miami Stadium in USA on Monday in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H clash between the strikes.

Kevin Pina’s free-kick put Verde ahead before Uruguay hit back through Maxi Araujo and Agustin Canobbio. Helio Varela dragged Verde back on level terms with his strike on the hour mark.

Pina netted the Blue Sharks’ first ever WC goal together the scoreboard ticking, before a couple of goals in quick succession in the lead up to the half-time break from Araujo and Canobbio gave Marcelo Bielsa and Co. the lead.

Cabo Verde, however, restored parity after the hour mark as Varela, who had come off the bench just minutes prior, struck to peg the Blue Sharks back on level terms.

Earlier in the day, Spain cruised to a 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group H match at Atalanta Stadium on Sunday. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the 11th minute with his first goal of the tournament, while Mikel Oyarzabal answered his critics with a brace after his disappointing display against Cabo Verde. Saudi Arabia’s Hassan Altambakti later scored an own goal to complete Spain’s dominant win.

In Group G, Belgium were held to a goalless draw by Iran at Los Angeles Stadium on Monday, marking their second consecutive draw after also sharing points with Egypt. Belgium’s task became harder when Nathan Ngoy was sent off in the second half. Despite registering 23 shots, the Red Devils failed to score and remain winless with two points from two matches. The draw lifted Iran to the top of Group G, ahead of Belgium, while New Zealand and Egypt sit third and fourth with one point each from one game.
