Neymar Jr., Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer in international football, took to X on Monday to share four pictures of himself training with his Brazilian teammates ahead of their third Group C match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Scotland.
He captioned the post “Gratidão meu Deus feliz demais!!" (Thank you, my God so incredibly happy!!) and it is now going viral on the internet.
Brazil, who opened their campaign at this year’s FIFA World Cup with a 1-1 draw against Morocco at New York New Jersey Stadium on June 13 before beating Haiti 3-0 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 19, will face Scotland at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on June 24.
A convincing victory over Andy Robertson’s side would help Brazil overtake Morocco and finish top of the Group C standings.
Neymar, who has scored eight goals for Brazil at the FIFA World Cup, is set to feature in the match against Scotland. Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed Neymar’s availability after his side’s win over Haiti.
Speaking to reporters, Ancelotti said that Neymar is expected to return against Scotland.
The 34-year-old has not played for Brazil since October 2023 but has resumed training after recovering from a calf muscle injury.
“Neymar will train individually tomorrow, then rejoin the group on Monday, and he will be ready for the game against Scotland," Ancelotti said on June 19.
Raphinha out
Barcelona star Raphinha suffered a right thigh injury during Brazil’s second match against Haiti and is set to remain out of action for a couple of weeks. According to Brazil team, Raphinha would undergo “intensive treatment" with the aim of being back in time for a possible game in the last 16 in early July.
The 29-year-old will therefore definitely miss Wednesday’s last Group C match against Scotland in Miami.
“We are all sad, especially Rafa, because of the little setback with this injury, but he can count on all of us for support. We are all by his side," Lucas Paqueta told reporters at Brazil’s World Cup base in New Jersey.
“He is a dedicated kid, and I am sure he will do everything possible and impossible to be back as soon as possible. But in terms of how important he is, well, I don’t think I need to say anything.
