Just like the Round of 16, where Norway stunned Brazil 2-1 and Spain knocked Portugal out thanks to Mikel Merino’s 90+1st-minute winner, the quarterfinals promise more high-quality football and drama.

The first quarterfinal of this year’s FIFA World Cup will be played between France and Morocco in Foxborough. France secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the Round of 16, while Morocco thrashed co-hosts Canada 3-0 at NRG Stadium in Houston.

In the second quarterfinal, Spain will lock horns with Belgium. The Red Devils defeated the United States 4-1 in their Round of 16 clash on Monday (Tuesday IST). They will, however, face a stern test against Spain, who are yet to concede a goal in this year’s tournament.

Harry Kane-led England are scheduled to take on Erling Haaland’s Norway on Saturday. The Three Lions defeated Mexico 3-2 in a hard-fought contest at Estadio Azteca, while Norway knocked five-time champions Brazil out of the tournament thanks to Haaland’s brace.

The fourth and final quarterfinal will be played between defending champions Argentina and Switzerland who defeated Colombia 4-3 in penalties.

All four quarterfinal matches will be played across four venues in the United States. Gillette Stadium in Foxborough will host the first quarterfinal, while the remaining three matches are scheduled to be played in Inglewood, Miami, and Kansas City.

The first quarterfinal between France and Morocco will begin at 1:30 AM IST on Friday, while the Spain vs Belgium clash is scheduled to start at 12:30 AM IST on Saturday. Meanwhile, the third and fourth quarterfinals will be played on Sunday, with the matches set to begin at 2:30 AM IST and 6:30 AM IST, respectively.
