Fifth Kakababu film Bhoyongkar Shundor announced

Following the strong audience response to the fourth instalment of the popular Kakababu franchise, the makers have announced the fifth chapter titled Kakababu: Bhoyongkar Shundor. The announcement was made during one of the team’s post-release theatre visits, turning a routine audience interaction into a celebratory moment for fans.Over recent weeks, the team has been visiting cinema halls every weekend, interacting with viewers and soaking in first-hand reactions. During these interactions, one question repeatedly surfaced — when is the next Kakababu film coming? To the delight of moviegoers, the answer arrived as a surprise announcement inside the theatre, drawing applause and excitement.With each film, Kakababu has bridged generations, rekindling nostalgia while introducing younger audiences to one of Bengali literature’s most enduring heroes.

The enthusiastic reception of the fourth film has reaffirmed the character’s timeless appeal, making the fifth instalment both a celebration and a promise to audiences.The film will once again be directed by Chandrasish Ray, whose return ensures continuity in vision and storytelling. Padma Shri awardee Prosenjit Chatterjee will reprise his role as Kakababu, a portrayal that has been widely praised for its gravitas and emotional depth.

Speaking about the journey, Prosenjit described Kakababu as an emotion that has travelled across generations, adding that announcing the new film directly among audiences made the moment especially meaningful.
