Filmmaker SKN clarifies 'Peddi' release date confusion: 'I mistook that the makers had announced June 26'

Ram Charan fans were left confused recently after a video of filmmaker SKN appeared to suggest that the highly anticipated sports action drama 'Peddi' had been pushed to June 26, 2026.

However, SKN has now come forward with a detailed clarification, revealing that the entire episode was the result of a miscommunication at a public event. Co-producer Sai Rajesh has also issued an apology, calling it a "blunder" from their side. With 'Peddi' currently scheduled for a worldwide release on April 30, 2026, here is the full story behind the confusion.In a video shared by the producer on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, he said people present at the event kept asking him about the release date of ‘Chennai Love Story’.

At that time, writer and co-producer Sai Rajesh told him that he saw tweets about a possible new date for ‘Peddi’.

What did SKN clarify?

SKN said, “At the event, everyone was asking me about Chennai Love Story’s release date. At that time, the film’s writer and co-producer Sai Rajesh told me that he saw tweets about the probable new release date of Peddi. He asked me not to announce our release date until the Peddi team makes an official announcement.

However, due to the audience’s loud cheer, the information was lost and I mistook that the Peddi makers had announced the new date as June 26.

Sai Rajesh also reacts

Sai Rajesh also shared his side. He wrote, “When he (SKN) said can we announce #ChennaiLoveStory on June 26th, I said Don’t announce. I just saw devipriya tweet on X app… ‘Peddi’ may come on June 26th… he mistakenly said peddi releasing on June 26th… Sincere apologies to Peddi team.

‘Peddi’ was earlier slated to release on March 27, but it has been pushed and is now announced to hit the big screens on April 30. However, murmurs persist in film circles that the movie may be further delayed.
