Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav will present the State Budget for the 2026–27 financial year in the Assembly on February 14. Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu will present the Budget for agriculture and allied sectors on the same day.
The Budget Session, which began on Wednesday with Governor S. Abdul Nazeer’s address to the joint sitting of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, will continue till March 7, concluding with cultural programmes for the legislators.
The schedule for the Budget session was finalised at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, chaired by Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu on Wednesday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other members attended the meeting, which finalised the subjects to be taken up on each working day, including presentation of the State’s Annual Financial Statement.
The House will pass the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address on February 12 and 13.
The Assembly will not meet on February 15 on account of Mahasivaratri, which falls on a Sunday, and there will be no sitting on February 16.
A general discussion on the Budget, followed by voting, is scheduled for February 17 and 18. The Finance Minister will reply to the debate at the end of the discussion.
The House will take up discussion and voting on Demands for Grants for eight days, from February 19 to March 2, covering each subject in detail. The session calendar includes holidays on February 21 and 22 (Saturday and Sunday), February 28 and March 1 (Saturday and Sunday), and March 3 on account of Holi.
March 4 has been earmarked for supplementary demands for grants, while March 5 is reserved for the passage of the Appropriation Bill. March 6 has been set aside for government business.
The Budget Session will conclude on March 7, with cultural activities for the legislators.
