Fire breaks out on Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express near Ratlam, passengers evacuated

BHOPAL: A fire was reported in the B-1 coach of Train No. 12431 Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations on Sunday, officials said. All passengers from the affected coach were safely deboarded and no injuries or casualties were reported among passengers or railway staff, according to the West Central Railway’s Kota Division. The overhead electric (OHE) supply was immediately cut off and the affected coach was detached from the rake. Railway staff and senior officials rushed to the spot and firefighting operations were underway. Train No. 12955 was held at Mahidpur Road station following the incident. Officials said the section is expected to be cleared shortly. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
