The first phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat Elections-2025 will be held on Thursday (December 11, 2025) from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Counting of votes will be taken up from 2.00 p.m. The second phase of the elections would be held on December 14 and the third phase on December 17. The last date to withdraw nominations for the three phases ended.

Vote counting: From 2.00 p.m.
Under the first phase, 4,236 Gram Panchayats and 37,440 Wards were notified for polls. However, of them, 3,836 GPs and 27,960 Wards would be going for polls as 395 Sarpanches and 9,331 Ward members were unanimously elected. The election campaigning including public meetings or through electronic media, ended at 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Stating that security arrangements were put in place to ensure a peaceful polling process, Nagarkurnool District Collector Badavath Santhosh said that meetings were held with the contesting candidates. Prohibition on sale of liquor in the mandals concerned is effective from 5.00 p.m. of December 9 till the results are announced.

Telangana State Election Commission officials on Tuesday held a video conference with District Collectors who are District Election Authorities. Sangareddy Collector P. Pravinya said that polling material was sent to the Mandal Parishad offices selected as Distribution Centres. Security arrangements were made for the polling staff to take the material from the Centres to the Polling Stations concerned. The activity has began at the Centres.
Wanaparthy Collector Adarsh Surabhi issued directions to send reports at 9.00 a.m., 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. after the polling begins. Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDO) have to make available computer operators for the purpose. Nirmal District General Observer, Ayesha Masrat Khanam, said on Tuesday that almost all voter slips were distributed and arrangements were put in place for webcasting the polling process.
