Five-day Basava Jayanti celebrations from April 16 in Kalaburagi

The district administration, in association with the Basava Jayanti Utsav Committee, will celebrate the 893rd Birth anniversary of 12th century social reformer Basaveshwara in Kalaburagi from April 16 to 20 with a series of religious, cultural and literary events planned over five days.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Deputy Chairman of the Karnataka State Planning and Policy Commission B.R. Patil, who is the president of the Basava Jayanti organising committee, said that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Jayanti Utsav.
