Five, including police head constable arrested for embezzling ₹1.40 crore government funds

The Karimnagar one-town police have arrested five persons, including a police head constable, for allegedly embezzling government funds to the tune of ₹1.40 crore by fraudulently withdrawing salaries in the name of three deceased police constables.

The accused have been identified as head constable Neelam Rammohan, presently attached to Chigurumamidi police station, Muniramaiah, a retired Administrative Officer, who had earlier worked in the office of the Karimnagar Police Commissionerate, and three private individuals – L. Ravi, Gangaraju, and Shankar.
