Rain and thunderstorms in Delhi disrupt flights, Delhi Airport and airlines including IndiGo issue advisories, urge passengers to check flight status and use Delhi Metro

Delhi airport and IndiGo among other airlines on Thursday evening issued advisories after rain and thunderstorms disrupted flight operations in the national capital.

Delhi Airport said some flights may be affected due to changing weather conditions and thunderstorms in the city. It said on-ground teams are coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth passenger movement and minimise disruptions.

Passengers were advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight updates and use the Delhi Metro to avoid possible traffic congestion on roads leading to the airport.

IndiGo also said adverse weather conditions over Delhi had impacted flight schedules. The airline said it was closely monitoring the situation to ensure safe operations and asked passengers to regularly check flight status on its website or mobile app.

The advisories came amid IMD forecasts of thunderstorms, gusty winds and rain across Delhi-NCR, with unstable weather likely to continue for the next few hours.
