With summer setting in and water sources drying up inside forest areas, the Forest Department has intensified efforts to ensure adequate water supply and food availability for wildlife in Erode district.
In a press release issued through the Collectorate, District Forest Officer K.V. Appala Naidu said forests and wildlife are invaluable natural assets and emphasised the need for sustained conservation measures to protect them for future generations. The district, known for its ecological diversity, encompasses the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, Thanthai Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Vellode Bird Sanctuary, and extensive reserve forest areas, all of which play a key role in biodiversity conservation in the State.
