Bandipur Tiger Reserve authorities have decided to rope in more tamed elephants to rescue the big cat

Mysuru: A forest guard, Kumar, was injured in a tiger attack during a rescue operation in Bandipur Tiger Reserve on Monday. He is being treated at a private hospital in Mysuru.The incident comes two days after a young farm worker was attacked by a tiger in Mullur village.Bandipur Tiger Reserve authorities have decided to rope in more tamed elephants to rescue the big cat prowling along the village border.On Saturday, Kiran, who was working in a banana plantation, was attacked by the big cat. Luckily, he escaped with injuries, and he is now being treated at a hospital. Following the attack, foresters launched a rescue operation, during which the forest guard was attacked.Bandipur director L Nandish confirmed to TOI that Kumar was injured in the tiger attack, and he is being treated at a hospital in Mysuru. Foresters will continue the operation to rescue the big cat using four to five tamed elephants to ensure the safety of villagers.
