KRISHNAGIRI: Four members of a family from Bangladesh were arrested near Hosur in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday night for staying in India without valid documents.Hosur assistant superintendent of police Anil Akshay Wakhare received confidential information that four members of a family from Bangladesh were residing in Avalapally region.
"In response, we conducted an investigation at the location and found that Basar Mulla,46, his spouse Ratna Begum,41, their son Alijadar Mulla,19, and his cousin Jamu Khattam, 25, were residing in India illegally,” the ASP said.Inquiries revealed that they migrated from Bangladesh to Kolkata in 2003. They moved to various places, including Mumbai and Bengaluru, before settling in Hosur area where they were involved into fish trade.The police registered a case. The arrested were remanded in judicial custody.
