Four Members Of Family Die By Suicide In MP Over Woman's Illicit Affair, Dowry Threat

Police arrested Draupadi and her lover in connection with a mass suicide case in Madhya Pradesh. Four family members, including died by suicide on July 25-26.

Four members of a family committed suicide in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district due to a woman’s illicit affair. The woman had an extramarital affair with her husband’s childhood friend. Police have arrested the woman and her lover.

As per a report by India Today, when she was confronted by the family, she refused to end the relationship and threatened to file a dowry case against them. Embarrassed and tensed, Manohar Lodhi (45), his mother Phoolrani (70), daughter Shivani (18), and his 16-year-old son, died by suicide on the night of July 25-26.

Accused woman, Draupadi, was in a relationship with a man named Surendra. Their affair was exposed when Draupadi’s daughter saw her in a compromising situation with Surendra.

The girl told her father, Manohar Lodhi, who asked Draupadi to end the relationship, but she refused.

She told her family that she can’t live without Surendra and if she is pestered anymore, she would file a case under dowry laws.

Manohar also tried to talk Surendra out of the relationship and reminded him of his years-long friendship, but he also refused. As per the police, due to continued threats, the family committed suicide.

Woman, Lover Arrested For Murdering Husband

In Gurugram, police have arrested a woman, her neighbour, and three others on charges of murdering her husband and concealing his body.

According to the police, Soni Devi, 35, confessed that she and Ravinder, 34, planned the murder using information they found online after her daughter discovered an inappropriate video of them on his phone and reported it to her husband.

During the investigation, the police apprehended Ravinder, who admitted to the crime, stated the police spokesperson. Manish, 19, and Fariyaad, 20, who allegedly helped with the murder, were also arrested and placed in police custody for five days on Saturday.
