Majid Khademi, a senior intelligence official of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Asghar Bagheri, a special operations commander in the Quds Force, were killed in US-Israel strikes on Monday, according to Israeli officials.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Khademi’s killing, while Bagheri’s death has been reported by Israeli sources but is yet to be officially confirmed.
Israel has accused Khademi of overseeing intelligence operations linked to surveillance inside Iran and activities abroad.
“Khademi wasn’t just any figure, he was effectively No. 2 within the IRGC, one of the few senior commanders who managed to survive multiple waves of Israeli and American targeting over the past year — until now," a senior Israeli official told Fox News.
The same official said Bagheri was involved in recruiting agents across West Asia and coordinating attacks targeting American personnel in Iraq and Syria.
Khademi spent decades in intelligence and counter-espionage roles, rising through Iran’s security establishment.
Their deaths add to a growing list of Iranian leaders killed in recent strikes across military and civilian ranks.
