BJP MP Tejaswi Surya on Monday welcomed Sergio Gor, the U.S. Ambassador to India, to Bengaluru for a meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties.

Taking to X, Surya said the two leaders shared a casual breakfast of masala dosa and coffee at Filter Coffee in Indiranagar while engaging in discussions on the growing India-U.S. partnership, particularly in trade, technology, and innovation following the interim trade agreement.

Surya added, “Bengaluru truly represents the journey from masala dosa to machine learning, blending tradition with cutting-edge innovation and plays a vital role in strengthening economic and people-to-people ties between our two democracies. With over 700 American companies and 43% of India’s software exports coming from Bengaluru, our city is central to US-India economic ties. Home to 40% of India’s GCCs, Bengaluru continues to drive innovation-led partnership between our two democracies."

During the visit, Surya also introduced the ambassador to Namma Auto, giving him a firsthand experience of the Bengaluru-based ride service. Surya described the visit as “memorable," highlighting the informal yet productive nature of the conversation.

He urged officials to ensure seamless execution and close inter-agency coordination to deliver the utility to citizens at the earliest. MLAs Ravi L.A. and C.K. Raju were present, along with officials from BWSSB, BESCOM, Police, and other stakeholder agencies.

In a post on X, Sergio Gor also shared his first impressions of Bengaluru, praising the city’s vibrant energy and innovation ecosystem.

Highlighting the warm welcome he received from Tejaswi Surya during his visit, Gor said, “Just arrived in Bengaluru! From startups to street food, Bengaluru’s energy is unmatched! Thank you to my great host @Tejasvi_Surya."
