At the AI Impact summit, the Indian Army showcased a range of indigenous dual-use artificial intelligence solutions, underscoring its transition into a data-centric, AI-enabled force aligned with India’s push for technological self-reliance and secure digital capability. The development was shared in a post by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information under the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army).
The Army highlighted that the technologies are designed for both defence and civilian applications, spanning education, disaster management, cybersecurity, logistics and operational planning. Among the systems presented are AI Examiner, an automated assessment and feedback platform for training and education, and SAM-UN, a geospatial situational-awareness tool intended for mission planning, disaster response and smart command centres.
Other solutions include EKAM, a secure indigenous AI cloud platform ensuring data sovereignty, and PRAKSHEPAN, an AI-driven climatology and disaster-prediction system capable of issuing advance alerts for floods, landslides and avalanches. The Army also introduced XFace for facial recognition-based security and identity verification, along with Nabh Drishti, a mobile telemetry-based real-time reporting and visualisation platform.
Operational safety and logistics are addressed through a driver fatigue detection device for real-time drowsiness alerts, an AI-in-a-Box portable edge computing system for deployment in remote environments, and an AI-enabled vehicle tracking system for fleet monitoring and optimisation. In addition, deepfake detection and AI-powered cybersecurity tools have been developed to counter synthetic media, malware and emerging cyber threats.
The initiatives reflect what the Army described as a decisive move toward a secure, networked and AI-empowered ecosystem aimed at strengthening defence preparedness while also enhancing disaster resilience, cybersecurity capabilities and broader national development.
