New Delhi: Meta and Oakley have recently introduced their latest pair of smart glasses in India, which are called “Oakley Meta Vanguard.” This latest pair of glasses is aimed at people who are in sports, fitness, and outdoor training. This Oakley Meta Vanguard is primarily built for workouts, long runs, cycling, and high-action sports. This partnership indicates that Oakley is for performance eyewear, and Meta comes with AI and innovative features. The company has also stated that the idea was to create glasses that athletes can actually use while they are moving, training, and competing, without stopping to check their smartphones or smartwatches.
Now, if we discuss the pricing, the Oakley Meta Vanguard starting price is Rs 52,300 in India. And the whole collection is currently available at leading optical stores, which include Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters. Oakley is now offering the glasses in four frame and lens combinations, with the black and white frame options paired with different PRIZM lenses. This Oakley Meta Vanguard has been positioned as the performance-focused take on smart glasses. It comes with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. Oakley stated that these glasses are built to handle sweat, rain, and outdoor training conditions.
Its primary focus is fitness data and real-time feedback. Meta AI integrates with Garmin and other fitness applications, enabling users to check metrics such as heart rate, pace, and overall performance using simple voice commands. The glasses can also activate the status LED in the user’s peripheral vision, letting the user quickly see whether they are on target for metrics like heart rate or pace without breaking momentum or looking down at the phone or watch.
Oakley Meta Vanguard comes with a hands-free action camera. The 12MP camera uses a 122—degree wide-angle lens and supports up to 3K video recording, along with the slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable stabilization. Open-ear speakers are claimed to be louder than earlier Oakley Meta models, including the HSTN, while the five-microphone array is designed to reduce wind noise during calls and voice interactions. In this latest pair, Meta AI also supports the Hindi language, UPI Lite payment, and an optional celebrity voice featuring Deepika Padukone, adding more localised functionality.
