Haryana’s notorious gangster Deepak Nandal is back in the headlines after police foiled an alleged plot to open fire at a businessman’s house in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok area. Four alleged shooters linked to his gang were killed in an encounter, while another was seriously injured.

The incident has once again raised questions about Deepak Nandal, his journey from the Haryanvi music industry to the world of crime and the alleged criminal network he is accused of operating from abroad.

Over the past few years, Nandal’s name has surfaced in several high-profile cases, including an attack on Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria, the murder of his accountant, firing at his manager’s house, firing at the MNR Builder’s office in Gurugram and alleged extortion demands targeting businessmen and builders.

More recently, Delhi-based Sufi singer Bismil alleged that he was threatened with death and asked to pay Rs 5 crore in extortion in Deepak Nandal’s name.

Police and investigating agencies claim that Nandal has left India and is currently operating his gang from abroad. Following several criminal incidents, social media posts claiming responsibility in his name have also surfaced.

From Music Industry To The World Of Crime

Before his alleged entry into the world of crime, Deepak Nandal was a known name in the Haryanvi music industry. He worked as a music producer, rapper and performer and collaborated with Rahul Fazilpuria and rapper Badshah on several popular songs.

His name was associated with songs such as “Haryana Roadways", “2 Many Girls" and “Kar Gayi Chul". In an interview, Nandal had said that working with Badshah and Fazilpuria was always a matter of pride and happiness for him.

For a long time, Nandal was considered a close friend, associate and on-ground manager of Rahul Fazilpuria. Whenever the singer became involved in a controversy, Nandal often came to his defence.

Defended Rahul Fazilpuria In 2017

In 2017, when Rahul Fazilpuria became embroiled in a controversy over a drunk-driving case in Gurugram, Deepak Nandal appeared before the media and claimed that the singer was not under the influence of alcohol.

The incident brought the close relationship between the two into greater public focus.

Name Surfaced In Deepak Kalal Assault Case

Nandal’s name was not limited to the music industry. In 2019, a video showing social media influencer Deepak Kalal being assaulted went viral. Deepak Nandal’s name also surfaced in connection with the case.

It was alleged that the assault was carried out over purported derogatory comments against Fazilpuria.

Accused Of Operating Gang From Abroad

According to Haryana Police and the Special Task Force, Deepak Nandal left India after being named in a criminal case. Investigating agencies claim that he first travelled to Dubai and later to Britain, from where he allegedly operates his gang through social media, internet calling and associates.

Police allege that his network is involved in extortion, shootings, murders and criminal conspiracies.

Businessmen And Builders Allegedly Targeted

According to police investigations, the Deepak Nandal gang has been accused of demanding money from businessmen, builders and people associated with the entertainment industry.

In several cases, social media posts claiming responsibility in the gang’s name have surfaced after the incidents. Police have been investigating the authenticity of such posts.

Attack On Rahul Fazilpuria And Rs 5 Crore Dispute Claim

Following an attack on Rahul Fazilpuria in 2025, a social media post went viral in which Sunil Sardhania, Deepak Nandal and Indrajit Yadav allegedly claimed responsibility.

The post alleged that Fazilpuria had taken Rs 5 crore from Deepak Nandal and had not returned the money.

It also threatened that a close relative of Fazilpuria would be targeted every month if the money was not returned.

Murder Of Accountant Rohit Shaukeen

In August 2025, Rahul Fazilpuria’s accountant, Rohit Shaukeen, was shot dead in broad daylight in Gurugram.

Responsibility for the murder was also allegedly claimed through a social media post in Deepak Nandal’s name.

Firing At Fazilpuria Manager’s House

More recently, shots were fired at the house of Rahul Fazilpuria’s manager, Saurabh Yadav, in Gurugram’s Kanhai village.

After the incident, a social media post surfaced claiming responsibility in the names of Deepak Nandal and Satta Nowshera and threatening further attacks. Police are investigating the post.

Firing At MNR Builder’s Office

Around 25 to 30 rounds were fired at the MNR Builder’s office in Gurugram’s Sector 45. Following the incident, a viral social media post claimed responsibility in Deepak Nandal’s name and referred to an alleged financial dispute.

Police are also investigating the post. The incident raised fresh concerns about the alleged expansion of gangster networks and the law-and-order situation in Gurugram.

Sufi Singer Bismil Alleges Rs 5 Crore Extortion Threat

Delhi-based Sufi singer Bismil recently alleged that he was asked to pay Rs 5 crore in extortion in Deepak Nandal’s name and was threatened with death.

Following his complaint, the Delhi Police Special Cell registered a case and launched an investigation.

Haryana STF’s Action Against Nandal Gang

The Haryana STF has taken action against several alleged members of the Deepak Nandal gang in recent months.

In April this year, the STF arrested the gang’s alleged sharpshooter, Nivesh alias Dilla, following an encounter in Gurugram. According to police, he was allegedly plotting a shooting to rob a businessman’s office.

Police said he opened fire during the operation and was injured in retaliatory firing. An illegal pistol was also recovered from his possession.

Sunil Sardhania Emerges As Key Link

Gurugram Police recently arrested gangster Sunil alias Sardhania at Delhi’s IGI Airport. Police allege that he fled abroad in 2024 using a fake passport and operated a gang alongside Deepak Nandal while staying in Costa Rica after travelling via Dubai.

According to police, during interrogation, Sunil Sardhania disclosed his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to attack Rahul Fazilpuria, the murder of Rohit Shaukeen and the firing at the MNR Builder’s office in Gurugram’s Sector 45.

More than 24 criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, robbery and weapons supply, are registered against him.
