Over 4.5 tonnes of fruits were used in exhibits made to resemble dinosaurs at the 66th annual fruit show organised at the Sims Park in Coonoor. The four day event will conclude on May 30.

The main exhibit was a fruit sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus rex made of dates. Other sculptures of the gate made famous in the Jurassic Park movies as well as different types of dinosaurs, including Triceratops, Brachiosaurus and Pterodactyls were displayed. A total of 160 different types of fruits are on display. Exhibits were also put up by different horticulture departments from Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Erode, Karur, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Viluppuram and Tenkasi.

The 66th Fruit Show will mark the final event of the summer festival this year, with the flower show set to end on Thursday.
