Jon Jones’ UFC career is hanging by a thread. The veteran fighter has reached a boiling point, and he went after Dana White straight. In a social media rant, Jones slammed Dana White over his comments on White House card involving the UFC fighter.

The UFC boss dismissed the idea of Jones competing at the highly anticipated White House fight card scheduled for June 14. The comments quickly sparked backlash from the former two-division champion, who claims negotiations for the event were very real and ongoing until days before the lineup was announced.Jones responded with a series of posts questioning the narrative around his absence from the card. The 38-year-old fighter, widely regarded as one of the greatest competitors in UFC history, said he even lowered his financial expectations during talks.

His frustration reached a new level when he publicly asked the promotion to release him from his contract.

Dana White gets massive criticism from Jon Jones

The conflict began after White addressed reporters following UFC 326 and explained why Jones was not included in the White House card. The UFC CEO insisted the veteran fighter was never part of the plan.“Never ever, ever, which I told you guys 100,000 times, was Jon Jones even remotely in my mind to fight at the White House," White said while discussing the event.

White also questioned Jones’ ability to compete at a high level because of ongoing health concerns.

Jones disputed White’s claims and insisted negotiations took place between his team and the UFC. He said the financial offer from the promotion fell far below what he expected.“Dana, you were heated about why I’m not on the White House card, but let’s clear something up. My team and I were actually negotiating with the UFC for that fight.

Real negotiations,” Jones wrote. “I even came down from my original number, and what was I offered in return ? I was lowballed.”He later expanded on his disappointment with the situation.“I understand business deals fall through sometimes, but going out publicly and saying things that aren’t true isn’t right,” Jones said. “After everything I’ve given to the UFC, the years, the title defenses, the fights, hearing that I’m “done” is disappointing.”

Tom Aspinall backs Jon Jones in massive UFC feud ahead of White House fight

The dispute took another turn when heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall weighed in on the issue during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. Aspinall has had his own complicated history with Jones, yet he supported the former champion’s stance regarding fighter pay.“This is going to probably be crazy to a lot of people listening, but why is the UFC not giving Jon the respect he deserves financially? That's crazy to me,” Aspinall said. The British fighter argued that Jones’ accomplishments inside the Octagon warrant stronger financial backing from the promotion.“If anyone should be getting paid a lot in this sport, it should be Jon Jones for the stuff that he's done. That's me saying that after the history that I've had with Jon Jones. If anybody should be getting money in this sport, it's Jon Jones.”Aspinall also referenced a previously discussed bout between the two fighters.“They offered him $30 million to fight me," Aspinall said. "So why have they not offered it again? I don't understand.“These are the guys who brought in the revenue for over 10 years. They need to be getting paid what they deserve, in my opinion.”For now, Jones remains under contract with the UFC.
