Dumka: Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani on Sunday visited the Baba Baidyanath Dham temple in Deoghar and offered prayers amid tight security arrangements.Arriving via a special flight at Deoghar Airport, Adani proceeded directly to the temple.
He performed 'jalabhishek' with full rituals, offered prayers, and meditated briefly.“I came here to seek Baba Baidyanath’s blessings and prayed for the advancement of Jharkhand and the country,” Adani told reporters.Later, Adani left for the local residence of Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey before flying to Pirpainti in neighbouring Bihar to review the ongoing work of a thermal power plant of his group.“Nishikant Dubey happens to be my friend and a parliamentarian who always encouraged me and the group.
It is on his instance a cement factory is being set up in Godda, which will contribute to the economic growth of the state and generate employment opportunities for local youths,” Adani told reporters.In Godda, Adani reviewed operations at the 1,600 megawatt (MW) ultra-supercritical thermal power plant, built at an investment of over Rs 16,000 crore.During the visit, the industrialist interacted with engineers, technicians and frontline workers at the Godda facility, and also met tribal women from nearby communities.He also visited the group’s planned 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical power project at Pirpainti near Bhagalpur in Bihar, envisaging an investment of Rs 2,700 crore, which is expected to be commissioned over the next four to five years.
