Google has announced that it is rolling out three artificial intelligence (AI)-powered shopping features for Indian users. These features combine the company’s Gemini AI models with its product database to make discovering, comparing and buying products faster than before.
The Search giant announced that the updates span the Gemini app, Google Search’s AI Mode and Circle to Search. “We're making it easier than ever to find exactly what you need, with tools that bring together our Gemini models and Google’s Shopping Graph, our dataset of more than 50 billion of the world’s products, 2 billion of which are updated every hour. Last year, we launched our Virtual Try-On tool in India, and we’ve been excited to see how it’s made shopping easier for users by helping them virtually try apparel listings on themselves,” the company says.
Here is what each new Gemini feature does and how to use it
Shop directly inside the Gemini appThe first update brings shopping capabilities directly into the Gemini app. This means users no longer need to switch between a chat interface and a browser to purchase an item. Previously, asking Gemini for style advice or gift ideas produced text suggestions that users then had to act on separately like opening in a new tab. Now, the same result can surface shoppable product listings, comparison tables, live prices from across the web and direct links to buy.
For example, if you are looking to purchase pair of shoes for gym, you can ask in Gemini app “Suggest shoes for gym training that have high sole”. Gemini will find relevant options for you. You find two options best suited for you. You can ask Gemini to compare them, and you will get a quick comparison within the chat interface. To use it, just open the Gemini app and ask any shopping-related question. The feature is currently available in English and Hindi.Shop in Google Search AI ModeThe second update brings same the shopping experience inside Google Search itself, replacing the traditional approach of typing keywords and clicking through filters with something far more natural. When a user asks a shopping question in AI Mode, Google now returns an intelligently organised response that combines rich visuals with all the practical details needed to make a decision: prices, reviews, stock availability and, where relevant, a side-by-side comparison table that breaks down the differences between similar products.Google describes this as its biggest upgrade to shopping in AI Mode in India because it uses conversational format, allowing users to refine their search naturally, the way they would ask a knowledgeable friend rather than a search engine. The feature is available in English and Hindi.Circle to Search for an entire outfitFinally, the third update makes Circle to Search more powerful. Previously, Circle to Search allowed users to circle or highlight a single object on their screen to search for it.
The new update, available on Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 series devices, allows users to search for multiple objects in a single image simultaneously. This was previewed during the launch of Galaxy S26 series in February. The results will be divided into multiple parts, allowing users to ‘unfurl’ information on separate items like shirts, shoes and shorts. According to Google, shopping-related searches are already among the most common uses of Circle to Search. How to use it:
- On a compatible Pixel 10 or Samsung Galaxy S26 series device, press and hold the home button or navigation bar to activate Circle to Search.
- Then circle, scribble or tap across multiple items in any image on your screen
- Search for all of them at once and choose conversational language to surface relevant results.
