Google Cloud India announces Sashikumar Sreedharan as new managing director

, will lead Google Cloud’s go-to-market organisation in the country. In this role, Sreedharan will work with Google Cloud's enterprise and digital native customers, partners, and developer ecosystem as they build for an

AI-first future

. Sreedharan joined Google Cloud in September 2023 as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, based in Bangalore. Before joining Google Cloud, he served as Managing Director of Microsoft India, leading its

enterprise business

. He has also held leadership positions at companies such as SAP and IBM in India.

What Google Cloud executives said about the new appointment

Speaking on the appointment, Karan Bajwa, President, Google Cloud, Asia Pacific said: “I want to thank Bikram who has been instrumental in driving Google Cloud’s success in India till date, and he will now shift his focus to regional strategic initiatives. As Sashi takes on the leadership of our team in India, I’m confident he will further propel our organisation and our customers to their next phase of growth in this crucial market.”

A wide range of organisations across industries are using its services to scale innovation. This includes financial institutions like HDFC Bank and ICICI Prudential; retail platforms such as Flipkart and Myntra; healthcare providers including Apollo 24/7 and Manipal Hospitals; as well as tech firms like Wipro and Tech Mahindra. Several digital-first companies like Glance and Dream11 are also among its users. In the public sector, Google Cloud has partnered with entities such as ONDC and the Government of Uttar Pradesh to support

digital transformation

and improve service delivery using cloud and AI tools.
