New Delhi: Google has recently started rolling out the latest capabilities to its AI Mode in Search in India that aims to help users book restaurant reservations more easily. This feature enables users to search, compare, and reserve tables via a single query rather than switching between multiple applications or websites. Google has also partnered with the likes of Swiggy, Zomato, and EazyDiner.
AI Mode in Search works on a conversational search tool, by showing detailed, AI-generated responses directly on the results page while also surfacing real-time availability from the different platforms.
With this recent upgrade, the users can now ask more detailed and specific queries when looking to take any table. AI Mode then will processes this request and scans across different platforms to find available options in real-time. It also presents a list of restaurants that match the criteria, alongside available reservation slots.
The users are then directed to the booking page to complete the reservation. It removes the need to manually check multiple applications or websites by making the process quicker and more streamlined.
The features also rely on the combination of systems working together. The feature uses its AI models alongside live web browsing capabilities of Project Mariner, direct brand integrations on Search to gather up-to-date information.
It also pulls the data from its Knowledge Graph and integrates with the services like Google Maps. This upgrade is also part of the broader expansion of AI-driven features in Search. Google has also unveiled support for more Indian languages in its Search Live features, by including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Google has also updated shopping features within the AI Mode by making it more conversational and easier to use while browsing products.
