New Delhi: Another big move from Google’s Gemini AI model, Google has recently been experimenting with a set of the latest advanced features. It includes an option to import chat histories from other AI chatbots, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Other features also include video authentication and higher-resolution image downloads. These features first appeared in early testing builds, and it has also been suggested that they are still under development and not yet available for all users. Google is now exploring more ways to make it easier for users to move between AI platforms, manage content, and work with richer media outputs.
The latest Import AI chats option is currently marked as beta. The latest feature has been appeared in Gemini’s attachment menu and enables users to upload chat histories exported from other AI chatbot services, including tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The goal seems to be preserving conversation context when switching platforms, addressing a common issue for users who rely on long-running AI chats for work or research. Imported conversations and ongoing chats are saved under the user’s Activity section. The notice shown during the import also states that this data may be used to improve Google’s services, including training generative AI models, which could raise privacy considerations for users when importing older conversations.
Another latest feature spotted in the experimentation is the latest settings entry labelled likeness, which currently links to the Video Verification page. While details are minimal, the statements suggest Google may be experimenting with tools related to verifying or analysing video content. This could be aimed at addressing the concerns around the AI-generated or manipulated videos, but the exact use case remains unclear at this stage.
