New Delhi: Google has recently reported they are preparing to offer the latest Gemini Intelligence to flagship smartphones. Gemini Intelligence might not work on just any devices. Currently, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 might be among the first devices to receive the upgrade this summer.

If we discuss the requirements, it should include at least 12GB of RAM. The device must support AI Core, an Android system service that exposes an API for applications to perform AI tasks by using the on-device Gemini Nano model.

However, the specifications also mention that the device might need Gemini Nano V3 or newer, and now only a handful of devices support it. Gemini Intelligence also demands flagship-level SoC performance and requires devices to meet quality-in-the-field standards, such as maintaining a low crash rate.

The device must also provide 5 OS upgrades and 6 years of quarterly security upgrades, alongside supporting the Android Virtualization Framework and pKVM.

It also requires enforced media performance standards, by including support for spatial audio, low-light enhancements, HDR gaming, and annual GPU and driver upgrades.

Requirements effectively place Gemini Intelligence in a very exclusive category, which might disappoint users who were hoping to experience its latest automation and assistant features on older or mid-range devices.
