Govt school students fall ill in Gadag taluk

Gadag: As many as 25 students of a govt higher primary school at Beladhadi Tanda in Gadag taluk fell ill after consuming castor beans and were admitted to the Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS).

A student distributed castor beans to other students in Class 3 and Class 4 after she took them from a tree on the school grounds. After they reached home, the children started vomiting. All the students’ health was stable. DDPI SR Buradi visited the hospital and reviewed the health condition of the children. He also directed BEO to visit the school and advise the standard protocol to the headmaster.
