Govt to publish scores of non-selected SSC candidates for consideration by PSUs and other bodies

NEW DELHI: In a recent move aimed at enhancing the recruitment landscape across the country, the Government of India has decided to make public the scores and relevant details of candidates who appeared in the final stage of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations but were not recommended for appointment.

This initiative will support other recruiting organisations such as Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and autonomous bodies in identifying potential candidates for suitable vacancies.The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), operating under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, will publish the candidate information in roll number order on its official website.

This publicly available data will later be linked to a dedicated portal being developed by the government.Disclosure of candidate information under specific parametersAs per the official notification issued from SSC's headquarters at Block No. 12, CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi - 110003, the following information will be disclosed for candidates who were not recommended in the final results of SSC recruitment examinations:• Name of the candidate• Father's/Husband's name• Date of birth• Category (GEN/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH/Minority)• Gender• Educational qualifications• Total marks obtained in the qualifying examination• Rank used for merit determination• Complete address• E-mail addressOption to opt out of disclosure availableCandidates will have the option to opt out of this disclosure scheme at the time of filling in their application forms.

Only the data of candidates who consent to the scheme will be made public, and such details will be published after the final result of the relevant examination is declared.Validity and coverage of the disclosure schemeThe disclosed information will remain available for one year from the date of publication. However, the scheme does not apply to Selection Posts Examinations. The disclosure scheme will take effect from results declared by the SSC from November 2024 onwards.Limit on number of disclosed candidatesThe number of non-recommended candidates whose details will be published will be limited to up to twice the number of notified vacancies for each examination. These candidates may be considered for appointments by PSUs, autonomous bodies, and other user agencies.Retention of application documents advisedCandidates are advised to retain their application forms and other necessary examination documents for a period of three years, in line with the Department of Personnel and Training's Office Memorandum No.
