Patna: Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Tuesday said the govt will take action against anyone found guilty in the police encounter at Bilauti village in Bhojpur district on June 17. He noted that the preliminary investigation revealed lapses or negligence on the part of the local police a day prior to the incident, leading to the suspension of three police officers.Earlier in the day, CM Samrat Choudhary refused to comment on the incident.The deputy CM said various controversial details have emerged regarding the police encounter in Bilauti village. “Taking the incident seriously, the govt has decided to have it investigated by a judicial commission. It is the govt’s responsibility to dispel any doubts or apprehensions the public may have regarding the incident. An investigation by Shahabad range DIG is already underway, and a probe by a high court’s retired judge will bring the full truth to light,” Choudhary said.He asserted that the govt has no intention of shielding the guilty. “Rather, it aims to ensure a completely transparent investigation. By ordering a judicial inquiry, CM Samrat Choudhary has made the govt’s intent clear. I assure the people of Bihar that the govt would definitely take action against any officers found culpable in this incident. Therefore, the public should exercise patience until the judicial commission submits its report,” the deputy CM said.
