A 35-year-old man was electrocuted at a construction site in Doddaballapura on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the police said on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sathish, a resident of Chaitanya Nagar who owned a grocery shop in the area.
According to the police, the construction work was under way near Dattatreya Layout to build a storage shed for grocery items for Sathish’s shop. On Thursday, Sathish visited the site to inspect the progress of the work when he accidentally came into contact with a live electric source and suffered a severe electric shock.
He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Doddaballapura Government Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
