Gujarat on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) kicked off an extensive readiness exercise for the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with a visiting team from Commonwealth Sport beginning on-ground inspections and high-level meetings in the State.

The delegation, headed by Commonwealth Sport president Donald Rukare, will assess infrastructure, planning timelines and venue suitability during its four-day stay from April 8 to 11. The team includes chief executive officer Katie Sadleir and representatives of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Mr. Rukare is leading the review process as part of initial coordination efforts with host authorities.
