Gujarat University announces vacant seat-based counselling schedule

Ahmedabad: Gujarat University admission cell has released the detailed schedule for admission through vacant seat-based counselling (VSBC) for undergraduate courses. The process aims to fill remaining vacant seats in colleges and university departments after the completion of regular admission rounds.As per the notification, students who did not secure admission will be able to view their selected courses and colleges on the admission portal from July 5 to July 14. The vacant seat details will be available under the ‘Admission Menu’ section.Colleges and university departments have been instructed to conduct the counselling process based on available seats, category and merit using the seat-based counselling module.The counselling process will be conducted in multiple rounds. The first round of offers will take place on July 6, followed by admission confirmation through OTP on July 6 and 7. Subsequent rounds are scheduled for July 8, July 10-11 and July 13-14, during which colleges will continue to generate offers and confirm admissions based on vacant seats.The final round for generating offers is scheduled for July 15. Students who receive offers must confirm their admission within the given timeframe through OTP verification.

University officials stated that this process ensures transparency and provides a fair opportunity for admission to students who were unable to secure seats in earlier rounds. Colleges have been directed to strictly follow the schedule and guidelines issued by the admission cell.The academic session for the new academic year will commence from July 15, marking the completion of the admission process.
