Patna: Governor-cum-chancellor Syed Ata Hasnain on Thursday said that India’s growing global stature is rooted not only in its economic progress but also in the confidence and cultural continuity of its youth.Addressing foreign students from 18 countries at a seminar titled “Youth, culture and diplomacy: Indian style” at Lok Bhawan, he said India is globally recognised for its inclusive culture and ethos of coexistence. He noted that the country has historically influenced the world through its spiritual thought and cultural values rather than military strength. Emphasising balanced growth, he urged young people to engage with technological advancements while staying connected to their social and cultural roots.Students from Nalanda University, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Central University of South Bihar and IIT Patna participated in the interaction, sharing their academic experiences and perspectives.Later in the day, Hasnain reviewed academic and administrative progress at Purnia University during a meeting with vice-chancellor Vivekanand Singh. He appreciated the implementation of the Samarth portal for admissions and directed the university to prioritise the introduction of mass communication studies.The vice-chancellor presented details of ongoing activities and also highlighted key challenges faced by the university, seeking guidance from the chancellor during the review meeting.
